L’INÉDITE is a collection inviting different artists to produce a personal image calling on their current practice, their work process in progress, or simply their news.
In Sicily, I saw all kinds of sculptures of men. Statues in the image of gods, insolent men of power, with bulging torsos and bulging muscles. Next to these strong men, women often beg, plead or simper. Sculptures, and art in general, are almost everywhere in Italy, including Sicily. In churches, in gardens, in schools. In Catania, I walked past the door of a college, and found this boy who seemed to be hiding, fragile, embarrassed perhaps, surely vulnerable. He was different and I wanted to hug him.
