The day before Corky’s fencing match, this sensitive and complementary duo reminds us of the often blurred boundaries between love and friendship. The author questions the transition from one age to another, what we lose and what we cultivate. Do we continue to cuddle with friends, to pile up on the couch while imagining what comes next?

The artist masters her technique with a flexible and spontaneous line that reflects the psychology of her young characters. Using watercolor markers, she draws a clear line without any tricks. The colors are bright and vibrant, and airbrush textures punctuate the story, reminding us that the author’s breath is never far away.
