In this graphic novel co-written by the two authors, food becomes a symbol of a romantic relationship, the passage of time, emptiness, and fulfillment.
Our meeting unfolds through hesitant touches across the tablecloth, fingers reaching for bread, dodging the melted wax of candles.
We taste one, then two, then three dishes, which evolve into the pillars of a relationship — a pillar as hard as stale bread, which then melts into a pool of butter.
Can one escape a pool of butter alone? Or do we need a multitude of friendly hands to soak it up with soft white bread?
The book has been printed in four-color offset using fluorescent inks, crafted with the same care as our risograph-printed editions. We also use a voluminous, matte paper, maintaining the materiality that suits us. This book is the French version of the original American edition by Perfectly Acceptable.
